Back to: Hockey Stop
- This is a drill to improve your ability to turn both feet/skis at the same time without involving too much of the upper body.
- Measure: When you turn your feet sideways, you must come to a complete stop (100%). No forward or backwards movement. This equates to being “balanced”
- Start on mild slope, travel straight down the slope, turn both feet perpendicular to the slope and Stop.
MEASURE:
- IF both skis remain parallel AND you’re able to STOP 100% without slipping forward or backwards on the snow, you’ll be properly balanced using just the right amount of grip or edges.
