Ski Spray

  • If you’re able to spray snow from the ski throughout your turn, it just means you’re turning continuously throughout your turn with an even-pulse to the turn.
  • The higher the spray near the top of the turn, the more advanced the skier.
  • If the snow is only spraying at the bottom of the turn shape, this means the skier is turning the feet all at once and at one part of the turn (the bottom).

MEASURE:
If snow is being sprayed off the skis in the middle or end of the turn, then the skier will be able to complete an intermediate parallel turn.

Skier #1 is spraying the snow near the middle to end of the turn. This skier is not correctly balanced against the outside ski and hence sprays the snow all near the end of the turn.

Skier #2: Better form here where the skier is more balanced against the outside ski, spraying the snow in the middle of the turn shape.
