Photo Friday is a quick blog capturing skiers on the slopes. It’s a journal of present and past photographs captured from resorts across North America.
Situation
Here’s a photograph I took during an exam situation of a skier performing a dynamic parallel run. You can see the snow flying off his skis early in the turn which suggest early grip and expert performance. This skier was doing well with balance over the outside ski while hips and lower joints moved IN to increase edge angle and impulse.
Type of Turns
This skier was performing some Dynamic Parallel turns. The speed and slope were expert level.

This photo was taken in late March at Mont Ste Anne (Quebec, Canada)

The photo was captured during mid morning and was on a Black Run
Snow Conditions
Conditions were not quite spring like, but got a little soft half way through the day.

- Canon Zoom Lens: 70-200mm(Full)
- ISO: 100
- Aperture: f/8.0
- Shutter: 1/1000 sec
PHOTO TIP:
Wait for the skier to arrive at specific point in the turn before snapping the shutter. It will assure you capture the most dynamic part of the turn
